Biological insights into the rapid tissue regeneration of freshwater crayfish and crustaceans

The freshwater crayfish is capable of regenerating limbs, following autotomy, injury and predation. In arthropod species, regeneration moulting are two processes linked strongly regulated by ecdysone. limbs divided into wound healing, blastema formation, cellular reprogramming tissue patterning. Limb cells undergo proliferation, dedifferentiation redifferentiation. A limb bud, containing folded segments the limb, encased within a cuticular sheath. functional regenerates, in proecdysis, to three consecutive moults. Rapid growth hormones, nerves local cells. TGF‐β/activin signalling pathway has been determined crayfish, P. fallax f. virginalis , suggested as potential regulator regeneration. this review article, we discuss current understanding various crustaceans. thorough cellular, genetic molecular pathways these biological promising for development therapeutic applications wide array diseases regenerative medicine.
